Beast in Black turned what could’ve been a quiet Sunday slot into a full-blown power metal victory lap at Donauinselfest 2025. Slotted against Rag’n’Bone Man on the final day of the festival, both the band and the fans braced for a modest turnout, but instead, the Radio 88.6 Rock Stage was absolutely packed. And not just bodies – voices. Every chorus, every synth-streaked anthem was met with a full-throated sing-along that rivaled their own headlining shows.

Compared to their solo appearance in Vienna just a year earlier, this was a massive level-up in energy, execution, and audience scale. Yannis Papadopoulos was in top form, trading laser-guided vocals with the band’s razor-sharp riffs and neon-lit backing tracks. It was nothing short of a masterclass in modern power metal – the kind of set that turns casual listeners into converts. Can’t wait to see them again supporting Helloween this fall!

Future of Metal

Among a sea of horns and battle vests, one tiny fan rose up – fists in the air, already carrying the torch for the next generation of metalheads. Donauinselfest wasn’t just loud – it was legacy in motion.

Twin Axes of Fury

Beast Mode Engaged

Nothing says “ready to conquer” like a wind machine and a smile that could melt steel beams.
