Austria’s own diabolical emissaries of black/death metal, BELPHEGOR, have returned from the abyss with a scorching new single, “Sanctus Diaboli Confidimus.” As caustic as it is commanding, the track sounds like a ritual in flames—invoking what’s to come with unholy conviction.
The release also heralds a new era for the Salzburg-born blasphemers, marking their first offering under a freshly inked pact with Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM), a fittingly bold home for one of extreme metal’s most unrelenting institutions.
BELPHEGOR mastermind Helmuth reflects on the reunion:
“It’s great to be working with Gerardo Martinez once again. He believed in BELPHEGOR early on and was the one who brought us to North America in 2006. I look forward to a powerful new chapter with RPM.”

From the blood-streaked altar of Wacken to the scorched pits of Hellfest and Knotfest, BELPHEGOR’s live rituals have long blurred the line between performance and possession. Smoke, fire, blood, and bone—they do not simply play shows; they summon something darker.
With Sanctus Diaboli Confidimus, Austria’s infernal export reminds us: the devil never left, he just got a new label.
