Lord of the Lost unveil “My Funeral” and wrap up the Opvs Noir trilogy

Lord of the Lost are closing out their ambitious album trilogy in style. The Hamburg six-piece have shared a new single, “My Funeral,” ahead of the April 10 release of Opvs Noir Vol. 3, the final chapter of the Opvs Noir trilogy that began with two volumes in 2025. True to form, the track resists easy genre labels, built around a tongue-in-cheek premise: black is the happy colour, and pink is the new colour of mourning. An official music video is out now.

Opvs Noir Vol. 3 picks up right where its predecessors left off, weaving heavy guitars, dark electronics, symphonic arrangements, and cinematic scope into what the band are billing as the creative peak of their career. The tracklist is loaded with guest appearances: Wednesday 13, Xandria’s Ambre Vourvahis, Kissin’ Dynamite’s Hannes Braun, and Cats In Space’s Damien Edwards all feature, and the album closes with what sounds very much like a deliberate farewell to this chapter of the band’s story.

For those who want to go deeper, a special “Deep Dive Edition” is available, bundling the album with a USB stick containing eight separate audio stems per song: vocals, guitars, drums, orchestra, and more, aimed at musicians, engineers, and obsessive listeners alike. Several limited vinyl variants have already sold out.

The band are currently on a European headline tour, which kicked off on March 12 in Oslo.
